Lewis F. Welshans, 86, of Jersey Shore, passed away Friday, Nov. 2, 2018, at the Williamsport Home. Born Oct.

15, 1932, in Nippenose Valley, he was the son to the late Frank Welshans and the late Ida E. Gamble. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, the former Mary F. Shaffer, and 10 siblings. Lewis was a member of Saint James Lutheran Church.

He retired from Piper Aircraft and the Jersey Shore Area School District. He also was a self-employed farmer. Surviving are two sisters, Mavis Rauch of Bastress and Sharon Lamey of Rauchtown; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, 2018 at Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, 125 N. Main St., Jersey Shore. Friends may call from 9 a.m. Thursday until the time of services at Welker Funeral Home.

Pastor Joe Hopkins will officiate. He will be laid to rest next to his wife in the Fairview Cemetery in Loganton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name may be made to the Williamsport Home, 1900 Ravine Rd.
