OBITUARY Ms. Lila Jane FARMER October 27, 1927 – July 21, 2018 Jane McMillan Farmer, 90, has joined her parents, Paul and Esther McMillan and son, Ken Farmer in the loving embrace of our Savior, Jesus Christ, as of Saturday, July 21, 2018. All who knew her will miss her gentle southern charm, dry-wit sense of humor and soft-spoken ways. Jane was a life long member of White Oak Baptist church and a proud graduate of Red Bank High School, Class of 1945, before attending Edmondson Business School.

She was recognized as a Red Bank High Alumni of Distinction in 2001. She loved to spend time with family and friends, was an avid reader and hungered for the warmth of a sunny day. After lovingly raising three sons while assisting daily at the Highland Apothecary Pharmacy, she worked as a secretary at Hixson High School before a 23-year career in customer service at the Electric Power Board of Chattanooga, from which she retired.

Jane was an active member of the Business Women’s Association in Chattanooga. Jane is survived by her sister, Marilyn Shauf; two sons, Steve Farmer (Lana) and Danny Farmer; two grandchildren, Sam Farmer and Emily Faisal ( Ali); two nieces, Kathy Williamson and her son, Jack (Amanda) and Anne Singer (Mark) and daughters Ashley and Crissy and son, Blake (Kilpy). She had three great grandchildren, Faris Faisal, Haytham Faisal and Fleur Farmer.

Visitation will be held at the Chattanooga Funeral Home, North Chapel on Tuesday, July 24 from 11:00-1:00. The chapel service will be at 1:00, followed by a graveside service at Chattanooga Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Chattanooga or White Oak Baptist Church.
