Obituary for Lillie Jane Cummings Lillie Jane Cummings, age 89, of Henderson, KY, passed away at 1:04 pm, Friday, October 12, 2018 at Lucy Smith King Care Center under the care of St. Anthony’s Hospice. Lillie was a member of Assembly of God Church for many years. She was a busy homemaker raising 6 sons with her husband, Samuel.

Lillie was described by her family as a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who was very much devoted to them. Lillie was an avid shopper and enjoyed visiting different flea markets in the area. She liked singing Christian hymns, whether it was with her group of friends or to residents at local nursing homes.

At home, her favorite pastime was watching western movies and she loved John Wayne. Lillie was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Cummings; son, James R. Cardwell; parents, Ervin and Mary Louise Jones; her step mother, Lucy Jones and four brothers. Lillie is survived by five sons: John Robertson of Robards, KY, Samuel Cummings II (Donna) of Morganfield, KY, Walter Lee Cummings, Uniontown, KY, Harold Cummings (Evelyn) of Henderson, KY, and Darrell Cummings (Susan) of Henderson, KY; sister, Virginia Carrier (Mark) of Henderson, KY; brother, Harry Michael Jones (Jennifer) of Henderson, KY; 14 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to Lillie’s Life Celebration from 4:00-8:00 pm Thursday October 18, 2018 and again on Friday starting at 10:00 am at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home, Henderson, KY. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, October 19, 2018 at the funeral home with Rev. Bill Schwartz officiating.

Burial will follow at Clay Cemetery in Geneva, KY. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to St. Anthony’s Hospice, 2410 S. Green St. Henderson, KY 42420. Arrangements entrusted to Benton-Glunt Funeral Home, A Life Celebration® Home, online condolences may be made at www.
