Obituary for Lillie “Louise” Lowder (Thompson) Mrs. Lillie “Louise” Thompson Lowder, age 88, of Harrisburg and formerly of Concord, passed away Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at Tucker Hospice House, surrounded by her family. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 pm Saturday, January 19 at Kerr Street United Methodist Church, with a funeral service to follow at 3 pm with Pastors, Chris Harbin and Lynn Cash officiating. Burial will be held at Oakwood Cemetery following the service.

Louise was born December 13, 1930 in Cabarrus County, a daughter of the late Walter A. Thompson and Lillie Bell O’Quinn Thompson. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband of 61 years, Harley L. Lowder; a brother, William Thompson and sister, Evelyn T. Hagler. Louise was a graduate of Concord High School and retired after 20 years of service at S&D Coffee.

She was a long-time active member of Kerr Street UMC, where she was a member of the United Methodist Women, and had served as the finance director. She was the Concord Laywoman of the Year with the Concord Lions Club in 1992. Louise enjoyed traveling and spending time at North Myrtle Beach.

She loved her family dearly and will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her. Survivors include her daughter, Beth L. Harris and husband, Rodney of Harrisburg; granddaughter, Bethany Harris Fair and husband, Allen of Dallas, NC; grandson, Dale Harris and wife, Victoria of Charleston, SC.
