Nancy Beatrice Franklin July 09, 1950 – January 14, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card The family and friends of Nancy Beatrice Franklin Carr suffered a major lose when she passed away on January 14, 2019. She was born July 9, 1950 to the late Elliott and Alice Franklin and educated in Cabarrus County. Nancy is the eldest of four children.

Nancy was lovingly known to her friends and family as “Nanny”. She worked many years as a dietary specialist at Kannapolis Village and retired from Reynolds House in Winston-Salem, NC as a Dietary Manager. Nanny loved cooking, dancing and listening to oldies but goodies.

She also enjoyed playing cards. Many have suffered loses against her at Biz Wiz. Nanny was a loving and caring daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.

They will all remember her frequent and wise advice, “Mine your business”. In addition to her parents, Nancy is preceeded in death by her son, the late Douglas Lamont Franklin. Nancy leaves her husband, Ira Eugene Carr, and her three children: Rhonda Franklin Grier (“Ken”, Sr.), Alice Franklin Graham (Ronald, Jr.), and Ira Eugene Hunter (Jaynea) to cherish her memories.

Her beloved siblings: Dedra Franklin Lott (the late Jerry), Larry Franklin (the late Ruby), and Sharon Franklin Blakeney (Michael) will forever remember their wonderful sister. In addition, ten grandchildren: Shryl “Ken” Kennedy Grier, Jr. (Shontae), Carlotte Grier Wilson (Curtis), Douglas Grier, Keasia Grier Monroe (Calvin), Xavier Graham, Mariah Graham, Karley Newman, Saynea Hunter, and Talyn Hunter, sixteen great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends will share fond memories of her. Nancy will also be remembered by a very special friend, Charles Bullard.
