Obituary for Bette Love Baker Mrs. Bette Jean Love Baker passed away Thursday, January 10, 2019 at her home. Her funeral service will be 3 PM Monday at First Presbyterian Church officiated by Rev. Lynn Keel.
The family will receive friends beginning at 2 PM in the Fellowship House. Entombment of the casket is private. Bette was born June 11, 1928 in Cabarrus County to the late Joe Wheeler Love and Rachel Brown Love.
She graduated from Winecoff High School in 1945 where she played basketball. Bette later graduated from Southeastern Beauty College and was a hair dresser for many years. She married A.E. “Sonny” Baker in October of 1952, who also preceded her in death.
Bette is survived by daughters, Debbie Smith Baker, and Jeannie Baker Sidi and her husband Bob; sons, A.E. “Fred” Baker and wife Cathy, and Joseph “Joey” C. Baker and wife Kim; grandchildren, Brandon Smith, Taylor Smith, Erin M. James, Ashlyn M. Malec, and Carson Baker; great grandchildren, Emma and Brady James, Channing Smith, and Halle Grace Smith. The family would like to thank Bette’s special caregivers, Jennifer Stout and Megan Sloop of Hospice, Kay Litaker, Sommer Golden, Bea Hinson, and Millie Fink.
