Lou Garry Howard, 78, of Albemarle, passed away Saturday, January 5, 2019 at his home in Albemarle. Garry was born March 1, 1940 in Albemarle to the late Marvin and Sudie Poplin Howard. Garry dearly loved his family and enjoyed visiting friends and family as often as possible.

He was an active church member and served in various positions. Garry never met a stranger! Garry is survived by his wife, Isabelle Tucker Howard; son, David (Tina) Howard; Isabelle’s children: April Hughey and Cale (Nikki) Hughey; three granddaughters and two great-granddaughters.

He is also survived by his only sibling, Paula Howard Saunders, five nieces, one nephew and one special God-daughter, Tori. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm on Monday, January 7, 2019 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at 2 pm at Poplin Grove Baptist Church, 220 Poplin Grove Church Road, Albemarle officiated by Rev.

Richard Carlisle, Rev. John Lindsay, and Rev. Larry Coley.

Burial will follow after the service in the church cemetery. Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle is serving the Howard family. Online condolences may be made at www.
