Rufus David Lashley, 64, peacefully passed away on Sunday, January 6, 2019 at Preston House Assisted Living Center in Charlotte, NC. He leaves his daughter Kerry-Anne Simpson, son in law Ernest Simpson, Jr; grandson Isaiah David Simpson; granddaughter Olivia Anne Simpson. He was the brother of Cleona Watson, Vincent Lashley, and the late Ocea Cadogan, Louis Lashley and Evrade Lashley.

David was the uncle to Omar, Erika and Maria Watson, Lisa Lashley, Steven and Alex Cadogan, Karen Blades, Vincent Lashley, Dwight and Linda Lashley. Born and raised on the island of Barbados in The West Indies, David lived his life every day surrounded by family, friends and associates. Devoted employee of the Barbados Port Authority, he retired after 38 years of service at the level of HR-Employee Relations Manager.

He touched, changed and embraced many lives while in this position. He will be missed by many. A service of celebration for Rufus D. Lashley will be held on Thursday, January, 10, 2019 at 6:00 pm at Hartsell Funeral Home, 12115 University City Blvd.
