Obituary for Marjorie “Margie” Campbell (Singer) Marjorie Singer Campbell passed away Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2019 surrounded by loving family and friends, prayer and song. Margie was born February 6, 1959 in Madison County, Iowa to her parents Bob and Marge Singer.
She was the youngest of five girls. A loving wife and mother, Margie was adored and admired by her husband of 35 years, Jimmy, and their three girls for her strength, poise, perseverance and faith. It is all of those things that carried her so gracefully through life’s triumphs and troubles and shaped the legacy she left to be carried on by those who love her.
Margie graduated from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill on a full academic scholarship. She earned her degree from the Kenan-Flagler Business School and began her career as a CPA. She excelled in her profession as a partner in the local firm, Stocks, Smith, Campbell and Dendy, PA.
She was uniquely able to maintain a work-life balance with her family, friends, clients, community and her Lord. Margie served on the boards of Habitat for Humanity of Cabarrus County and the NorthEast Foundation. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church, where she was part of the Jubilee-Ward Circle of United Methodist Women and was beginning her service as a Lay Leader for the church.
She loved her church home and faithfully served a mighty God. Margie is survived by her husband Jimmy; daughters Katie Morgan and husband Josh, and Brittany Dagenhart and husband Shane; grandchildren A.J., Wally, Joey and Mackenzie Morgan and Sullivan Dagenhart; mother Marge Singer; sisters Sherry Culbreth (Clay), Janet Cook (Larry), Peggy Parker (Tony) and Shelley White (Lanny); as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
