Linda Carol (Holden) Westin, 73, Two Harbors, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 26, 2018, setting her free from her 10-year battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was born to Bob and Carol (Brant) Holden on January 15, 1945, in Pequot Lakes, MN. After growing up in Backus, she moved to Finland, graduating from Silver Bay in 1963.

She attended Bemidji State University and UMD. She married Ken on August 14, 1965. Linda was first and foremost a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother, but she also enjoyed working at several businesses throughout the years.

She loved the Lord and was actively involved in church, serving in children’s, youth, and women’s ministries, playing the piano and organ, and attending numerous Bible studies. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. She used her gift of hospitality and enjoyed hosting family and friends whenever possible.

She loved the North Shore, enjoying berry picking, walking, and hiking the trails. Linda was preceded in death by her parents and foster daughter Hanh Tran. She is survived by her devoted husband of 52 years, Ken, children Rob (Sharri) of Ironton, Leann (Mark) Schreyer of Two Harbors, and Matt (Sarah) of Becker.

Siblings: Roger (Naomi), Alan (Linda), Kathy (Dave) Berry, Lavonne Christensen, Laura (Jon) Ward, Paul (Darcy), and Mary (Kerry) Pylka. Grandchildren: Ben, Paige, Ruby, Anna, AJ; Jessica Do; Breanna (Charlie), Jen (Alex), Shayne (Sonja); Sidney, Kayden, Lindsey, Maren, Brooke, Avery, Owen, and Ella. Great-grandsons: Calvin, Malachi, Gideon, and Elijah.

Visitation will be from 5 PM to 7 PM on Wednesday, August 1 at First Baptist Church and will continue from 1 PM until the 2 PM memorial service on Thursday, August 2, 2018 at First Baptist Church in Two Harbors.
