Linda Diane Noel, 78, of Portsmouth, passed away Sunday, May 6, 2018 at the SOMC Hospice Center. She was born April 11, 1940 in Portsmouth to the late James Herbert and Mildred Florine Prayther McConnell. Linda was an antiques dealer at Ghosts in the Attic and a 1958 Portsmouth High School graduate.

She had formerly worked at SOMC and Richard’s Electric. Her husband, Assistant Portsmouth Fire Chief Jack Lee Noel preceded her in death February 12, 2010. They were married in Portsmouth on January 19, 1974.

Surviving are her sons, Jeffrey Scot (Carol Bray) Cutlip of Portsmouth and Steven Randall (Kimberly) Cutlip of New Boston; four grandchildren, Spencer (Taylor Keen) Cutlip, Staci (Thad) Staggs, James Cutlip and Allison Cutlip; and one great-grandson, Rowan Cutlip. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Ralph F. Scott Funeral Home in Portsmouth with Rev. John Gowdy officiating and interment in Memorial Burial Park.

Visitors will be received at the funeral home Wednesday from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour. Linda’s family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to the caregivers at the SOMC Cancer Center and SOMC Hospice.
