Linda Marie (Matthies) Scott Age 82 passed away on July 3, 2018 after a long battle with COPD. Linda was born October 19, 1935 in Battle Creek, MI the daughter of Daniel and Ivah (Stratton) Matthies. As a teenager, Linda worked with her mother in the hospital cafeteria.

She married young and raised four children. Linda worked locally at Tops & Toys, Milligans Meat Packing and Eaton Stamping. Linda loved listening to music, playing games like Yahtzee, Scrabble, Skip Bo and telling it like it is. She will be remembered for her love of purses and the color pink. Linda is lovingly remembered by her children, Robert Scott, Kandice (Sally) Scott, Bradley (Janice) Scott; grandchildren, Stacy (Scott) Meek, Jacob (Suzy) Hisler, Jody (Tyler) Kent, Jane (Joshua) Boyd, Terry (Tara) Oliver, Joshua (Amy) Scott, Coty (Kristen) Scott, Katie (Jesse) Scott; great grandchildren, Kila, Christian, Teagan, Kamrin, Isabelle, Corbin, Sophia, Alexander, Cailynn, Eleanor, Braylen, Amelia, Carmynn and Jesse Jr. Also, a large extended family including many people that are not blood relatives but are still considered family.

Greeting her in heaven are her parents, husband, Robert Scott; son, William Scott and all seven of her siblings, Ellie, Dennis, Jo, Jim, Katie, Bill and Tom. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 9, 2018 at Skinner Funeral Home, Eaton Rapids chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Monday.

The family asks that those attending wear pink or other bright colors to honor her as she truly loved color. For those desiring memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Disabled American Veterans. To share memories or condolences please visit www.
