Timothy Patrick Maher Passed away unexpectedly on October 2, 2018 at the age of 60. Tim was born February 17, 1958, the 7th of 9 children to Michael & Mary (O’Mara) Maher, in Detroit, Michigan. His family moved to Eaton Rapids in 1970 where he began junior high school.

Tim graduated from Eaton Rapids High School in 1976 and returned to Detroit where he obtained his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the College for Creative Studies. He worked in the Lansing and Eaton Rapids area… Read More » with many Interior Designers as an interior painter. He also taught Art at LCC in the mid 1980’s.

Tim received a Master Gardener certification, his eye for style and design overflowed to his beautiful gardens. If you were lucky enough to have him work for you in the summer, you most likely were showered with floral bouquets from his garden. Tim’s life reflected his love for art and flowers.

He also loved horses, in so much as getting one for his son. Later in life he picked up the art of knitting and created many beautiful garments which he often gave to family and friends. More than any of his passions and talents Tim loved his son Patrick, who brought him the greatest joy.

Preceding him in death are his parents and infant son Mathew. He is survived by his son Patrick (Hannah and Knightley Garcia) of Eaton Rapids, brothers; Dan (JoAnn) Maher of Ventura, CA, Michael Maher of Springport, MI; sisters, Mary Ellen Maher of Charlotte, MI, Ann Maher of Eaton Rapids, MI, Maureen (Greg) Matfey of Novi, MI, Patty (Doug) Cook of Milford, MI, Cathy (Glen) Smith of Charlotte, MI, Joanie Raymond of St. Clair Shores, MI; former wife Christine Rockwood and numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of Tim’s life will take place on Sunday, October 14, 2018 from 2:00 – 4:00 P.M. at Skinner Funeral Home, Eaton Rapids Chapel.
