Linda Sue Cain, 74, of Ottawa, passed away Thursday, October 18, 2018, in Ottawa. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, October 24, 2018, at Dengel & Son Mortuary. Family will meet with friends from 6:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., Tuesday, October 23rd, at the mortuary.

She… Read More » graduated from Ottawa High School with the class of 1962 and continued her education at the Kansas State Teachers College (now known as Emporia State) graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Education in 1966.

Linda was united in marriage to Darold Cain June 2, 1971, in Kansas City. He survives of the home. Other survivors include five children, Cindi Miller and husband Richard of Springdale, Arkansas, Joe Cain and wife Denise of Greeley, Colorado, Amy Bulmer and husband Greg of Ottawa, Sara Caylor and husband Chad of Ottawa, and Jill Ferguson and husband Mike also of Ottawa; brother, Jim Guist and wife Mira of Clever, Missouri; fourteen grandchildren, April, Brett, Clint, Brock, Payton, Katie, Sarah, Ava, Kate, Amelia, Max, Emily, Robi, and Kyle; and three great grandchildren, Mali, Carter and Faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Edwena Guist. Linda was employed as an educator with Emerson Elementary in Kansas City, Kansas and later worked at Ottawa Middle School for many years, retiring in 2005. After retirement, she worked for Country Living in downtown Ottawa.

She was active in the Ransom Memorial Hospital Auxiliary as an officer; PTA; JC Janes; and cookie mom for Girl Scouts. Linda was proud to be on the OHS Wall of Honor Committee. Linda enjoyed her lunch groups, reading, going to casinos and spending time with grandchildren.

She loved watching KU Basketball, shopping (even buying her own Christmas present), cooking, was known for her famous Chicken Fried Steak, and working at Country Living.
