June E. Hettler, 91, of Ottawa, passed away Saturday, November 24, 2018, at Wellsville Retirement Community. Family will meet with friends from 9:30 A.M. to 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, November 28, 2018, at Dengel & Son Mortuary. Funeral service will immediately follow.

In March 2018, June moved to Wellsville. She graduated from Lane High School with the class of 1945. June was united in marriage to Clifford Hettler March 23, 1946, in Ottawa.

They enjoyed 70 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on July 18, 2016. She was also preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Glenna Davis; three siblings, Jack Brownlee, JoAnne Swogar and John Brownlee; and grandson, Kenny Weatherbie. Survivors include children, Cathy Brown of Ottawa and Ed Hettler of Monument, Colorado; four siblings, Doris Higdon of Williamsburg, Ginger Suther also of Williamsburg, Joy Mitchell of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Belle Collins of Nashville, Tennessee; six grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

June was a devoted homemaker and worked in the laundry at Ransom Memorial Hospital for 12 years and 16 years as a stockroom clerk at King Radio, retiring in 1992. She was a member of the Ottawa Women’s Bowling Association and Aerie Lodge 2700, Fraternal Order of Eagles Women’s Auxiliary of Ottawa. June enjoyed reading, camping and going to Mission, Texas for the winter.

She loved being with family, KU basketball and the KC Royals. The family suggests memorial contributions to Wellsville Retirement Community c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S.
