Robert Craig Story, 65, of Lawrence, passed away Saturday, October 13, 2018 at the University of Kansas Health System in Kansas City, Kansas. Private family services will be held later. Cremation is planned.

Robert was born Friday, March 27, 1953 in Ottawa, Kansas, the son of William J. and Pauline L. (Heckman) Story. He graduated from Ottawa High School with the class of 1971. Robert later went on to attend Emporia State University where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts… Read More » in Theatre in 1976.

Robert moved to Austin, Texas in the mid-1970s, where he lived until the early 2000s. He has lived in Lawrence for the last five years. Survivors include his sister, Mary Hepner and husband Jim of Ottawa; brother, Bill Story of Kansas City, Kansas; niece, Paula Patterson and husband Erik of Ottawa; and nephews, Wade Hepner and wife Jenise of Ottawa and Sean Story of Kansas City, Missouri.

Robert worked at St. David’s Hospital in Austin, Texas, in the neonatal unit as a clerk for many years. Family and friends are encouraged to post their condolences and memories on Robert’s Tribute Wall at www.
