Linda’s Obituary Obituary Linda Van Orden, 66 Linda Thompson Van Orden, 66, passed away Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at her home in Blackfoot, surrounded by her family. Linda was born on November 5, 1952 to Grant Anthony Thompson and Marjorie Jeanne Young Thompson in Downey, Idaho. She grew up in Inkom, Idaho, attended schools there and graduated from Marsh Valley High School.

She continued her education at Idaho State University, where she earned her Bachelors of Science degree in Nursing. Linda was sealed for time and eternity to Terry Leon Van Orden on June 8, 1974 in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. She worked at State Hospital South as a registered nurse for 26 years, and had many co-workers that became treasured friends.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, quilting and being a wife and mother. Linda is survived by her husband, Terry Van Orden of Blackfoot; her children, Gary (Crystal) Van Orden of Blackfoot, Aleasha (Nathan) Hancock of Spanish Fork, UT, and Angela (Kevin) Miller of Blackfoot; her brothers, Dale Thompson of South Jordan UT and Alvin Thompson of West Jordan UT; her sisters, Jeannette Wilson of Sandy UT and Irene Casper of West Jordan UT; her stepmother, Beatrice Thompson of West Jordan UT; and 15 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Grant and Marjorie Thompson and a brother, Grant Anthony “Tony” Thompson. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 4, 2019 at Blackfoot 11th Ward LDS Church, 520 N. Shilling Avenue. The family will meet with friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Sunday, February 3, 2019 at the Hawker Funeral Home, 132 S. Shilling Avenue in Blackfoot and again one hour prior to the service at the church.
