Gail’s Obituary Obituary Gail Outman, 66 Gail F. Outman, 66, of Blackfoot, Idaho passed away Monday, March 4, 2019 at Bingham Memorial Hospital. Gail was born June 2, 1952 in San Leandro, California, the daughter of David E. Denton Sr. and Phyliss Mellicant. She grew up in Concord, California and graduated from Concord High School in 1970.

As a teenager, Gail went to work in her father’s collection agency which was the beginning of many years in the collections field. Gail married her high school sweetheart, Vaughn Dutman on September 4, 1970. Together they had one daughter.

They moved to Idaho Falls, Idaho in 1977, and were later divorced. Gail went to work at the INEL for many years as a senior secretary. She then went on to work at Valley Bank in collections for more than a decade.

She worked with the Secret Service and the FBI on many cases concerning credit card fraud. Gail received several awards and earned numerous merit badges for her role in bringing the fraud rate to an all time low. In 1990, Gail and her daughter moved to Blackfoot.

She went to work at Non Pareil for the next 13 years as a secretary for the Dehy Plant. Her coworkers there became like family. She later went back to work in collections at Bingham Memorial Hospital.

Gail was a very strong and determined woman. She not only survived a stroke, but she also battled through breast cancer. Before her stroke, Gail enjoyed crocheting and working on numerous craft projects.

She was an avid animal lover and her cats were her pride and joy! Gail is survived by her only daughter, Olivia Outman of Blackfoot; sisters, Toni (Mike) Deery of Myrtle Creek, OR, Kimberlee (Chris) Koep of Blackfoot; brother, David E. Denton Jr. of Grants Pass, OR; and granddaughters, Taylor Winmill and Jordyn Winmill both of Blackfoot. She was preceded in death by her parents.
