Obituary for Linnea Kalash Linnea “Lynn” Marie (Carlson) Kalash, age 86, of Rowlett, TX, passed away June 10, 2018. She was born February 15, 1932, in Chicago, IL, to Edward and Anny (Anderson) Carlson. Lynn grew up in Chicago and graduated from Jones Commercial High School in 1950.

She married LeRoy Kalash on November 4, 1950, and they were married for 67 years. Lynn loved her family and was a wonderful Nana and Grandma to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed knitting infant hats and sewing handmade blankets for newborn babies and donating them to local hospital nurseries.

Lynn loved the many dogs she had over her 86 years of life and doted on them with unconditional affection and love. She is survived by her loving husband: LeRoy Kalash; two sons: Clifford Kalash (Joyce) of Wheeling, IL, and James Kalash (Susan) of Rockwall, TX; grandchildren: Katy Moore (Josh), Matt Kalash (Stephanie), Sam Kalash (Grace), Emily Kalash and Courtney Kalash; three great grandsons: Jack Moore, Zachary Kalash and Nathan Kalash; sisters: Ruth Hirschauer and Sandy Elbe; brother: Butch Carlson (Neon); and sister-in-law: Norma Carlson. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Bob Carlson, Buddy Carlson and Bill Carlson; brothers-in-law: Hank Hirschauer and Pete Elbe; and sister-in-law: Betty Carlson.

A gathering for family and friends will be held Friday, June 15, 2018, at The Gathering at Rest Haven Funeral Home – Rockwall Location from 2:00 to 3:00pm. A private family graveside service will follow. Memorials in Lynn’s name can be made to the Rockwall Animal Adoption Center at 1825 Airport Road, Rockwall, TX 75087 or online at rockwalladoptions.com/our-pets/donation-form/.
