LORAIN – Lisa Ann Jones (nee: Blakely), 56, who was born to Theodora and Olliewood Blakely on October 21, 1962 in Lorain, Ohio passed away on Sunday, November 11, 2018, at St. Augustine Health Campus in Cleveland, OH, following a lengthy illness. She was a beloved wife, who was loved dearly by her husband Alphonso Jones, a mother, grandmother, sister, niece, aunt, cousin and friend Mrs. Jones graduated from Admiral King High School in 1980. She later received an Associate of Science degree in Business and Hospitality Services from Columbus State Community College.
On July 2,1994 Lisa married her childhood love Alphonso Jones, to whom three children were birthed, Alphonso Christopher, Corey Lamont, and Elisa Chelise. With a desire to one day own her own restaurant Lisa spent her adult life devoted to baking and cooking homemade meals. Lisa loved cooking for and spending time with her family.
Her grandchildren were the apple of her eye. She leaves a host of family and friends to cherish her memories, including her husband Alphonso Jones, sons, Alphonso and Corey Jones and daughter Elisa Jones all of Lorain, Ohio; her step-children Na’Taki Jackson of Lorain, Ohio; Desmond Jones of Louisville, Kentucky; Donte Parker of Lorain, Ohio; Terrance Jones of Louisville, Kentucky; and Ramero Parker of Lorain, Ohio; 3 siblings, a brother, Preston Blakely of Columbus, Ohio; a sister, Dawn (Marvin) Connor of Columbus, Ohio; and brother, Timothy Blakely Sr. of Lorain, Ohio; special nephews DeLorean Blakely of Pueblo, Colorado; Dominique Mincy of Lorain, Ohio; and special niece Damichia Blakely of Lorain, Ohio; and her best friend, Lisa Richardson of Tennessee. Also mourning her loss are 32 grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and admirers.
In addition to her parents, Olliewood and Theodora Blakely, Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her brother, Mark Blakely Sr.; her sister, Marsha Blakely and her grandparents Timothy and Lula Mae Blakely. The wake will be held at Carter Funeral Home, 3001 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, Ohio 44055 on Monday November 19, 2018 from 5-7 p.m. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Funeral services will follow at noon. Services will be held at the Greater St. Matthew AME Church, 1909 West 24th Street, Lorain, Ohio Rev.
