Obituary for Miguel A. Cruz Miguel A. Cruz, age 77, of Lorain, passed away Friday, November 2, 2018 at Ames Family Hospice House, Westlake following a lengthy illness. Born December 22, 1940 in Orocovis, Puerto Rico, he moved to Lorain in 1960. Miguel worked at the Lorain Ford Assembly Plant for over 20 years.

He was a member of Sacred Heart Chapel, Lorain, and the United Autoworkers Union Local 425. He enjoyed gardening, cooking and was an avid Cleveland Indians fan. In the 1970’s, Miguel sang with Trio Universal and had recorded two singles.

Surviving are his daughters, Wanda Cruz of Lorain, Monica (René) Cruz-Guel of San Antonio, TX and Michelle (Jason) Hauslein of Cincinnati; grandchildren, Denny, Isabela and Gabriela; brothers, Hector of New Jersey and Samuel of Puerto Rico; and sisters, Luz Adria Cruz of Puerto Rico and Carmen Samper of New York. He was preceded in death by his parents, Francisco and Juana (nee Santos) Cruz; and brothers, Roberto, Nelson and Hiram. Miguel’s daughter, Evelyn Koepke also passed away on Friday, November 2, 2018.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm in the Dovin Funeral and Cremation Specialists, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain and on Wednesday at Sacred Heart Chapel, 4301 Pearl Avenue, Lorain from 8:30 am until the time of mass at 9:30 am. Rev. William Thaden, pastor will officiate.

Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain. Contributions can be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 30080 Hospice Way, Westlake Ohio 44145 or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at www. stjude.org/give.
