Obituary for Lois Marie Gregory Lois Marie Gregory Visitation with the family of Lois Gregory will be held from 6-8 p.m on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, March 29, 2018 at the Calumet United Methodist Church. Rev.

Travis Ewton, pastor will officiate. Mrs. Gregory passed away on Sunday March 25, 2018 in the Oklahoma Heart Hospital in Oklahoma City, OK. She was born on August 10, 1936 on the family farm outside of Calumet, OK.

Mrs. Gregory was a graduate of Calumet High School and Oklahoma City University. She was a Music & Vocal Performance major at OCU and one of the original members of the OCU Surrey Singers that toured nationally promoting the release of the movie “Oklahoma”. After graduation from OCU Lois lived in Kansas City, MO and worked as a transcriptionist and a part time professional soloist for the Episcopal church.

Additionally, while living in Kansas City, she was a frequent performer with the Kansas City Lyric Opera. Following her marriage, she moved to Paoli, Indiana with her husband Norman Gregory, later moving to Plantation, FL to raise her children. In 1986 she returned to Calumet where she has since resided, and pursued her love of collecting Americana décor.

She was locally known for being an exceptional musician and soloist at various churches in the El Reno and Calumet area. She taught private voice lessons from her home for many years and worked as choral director for several congregations. She was preceded in death by her parents: Rufus & Mildred (Gardner) Meschberger, and 2 brothers: Clyde & Aaron Meschberger.

Survivors are 2 – Daughters: Ruth Gregory of Atlanta, GA. Rachael Gregory of Chicago, ILL. 2 – Sisters: Mary Reuter of El Reno and Martha Eoff of Calumet, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Memorials may be made to the Calumet Volunteer Fire Department. The family requests that all attending the memorial service wear red, white and blue. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Lois Marie Gregory please visit our Sympathy Store.
