Lois’ Obituary Lois Milligan Jackson, 91, of Mullins passed away peacefully at McLeod Hospice House on Tuesday, May 28, 2019 with her family by her side. She was born in Columbus County, North Carolina, a daughter of the late Prossie Milligan and the late Mertie Ray Milligan Springs. She had been a member of Millers United Methodist Church for over 65 years.

A devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she passed the love and importance of family over material things on to her family. Lois enjoyed working at Belk when it was located in Mullins and made many lasting friendships while working there. Always a hard worker, she was the driving force behind the success of Jackson Farms and loved working in her garden there.

She was predeceased, in addition to her parents, by her precious daughters, Gloria J. Bell, Pam J. Owens, and Angela J. Shelley, her husband, Austin Jackson, a granddaughter, Lisa Chocolate, two brothers, Reverend Wilbur Milligan and Sam Milligan, and two sisters, Marie Sarvis and Shelby Norton. Lois is survived by her daughter, Phyllis J. Luff (Roland) of Mullins; a special grandson, Brian Wallace (Angela) of Mullins; a special granddaughter, Brittany Shelley of Mullins; a brother, Horace Milligan (Shirley) of Raleigh, N.C.; four grandchildren, Brian Wallace (Angela), Derek Bell (Brie), Justin Altman (Ashleigh), Brittany Shelley, a special great-grandchild, Bree Wallace; seven great-grandchildren and two special sisters-in-law, Shirley and Hazel Milligan. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 31, 2019 in the chapel of Meares Funeral Home with Reverend Steve Small officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the service. The family will lay her to rest at Devotion Gardens following the visitation. If you would like to remember Lois, the family suggests that memorials be made in her memory to McLeod Hospice House, 1203 East Cheves Street, Florence, South Carolina 29506.
