Lonnie E. Wiram, 62, passed from this life into the arms of Jesus at 3:45 a.m. Monday, May 13, 2019 at Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care. He was born July 3, 1956 in South Gate, California to the late Franklin J. Wiram, Sr. and Ruth E. (Saulman) Wiram. Lonnie married his best friend, Sandra “Sonnie” (Fuqua) Wiram September 1, 1979.

Their children include: Amanda Gootee (Tony) of Indianapolis, Elizabeth Scamihorn (Matthew) of Terre Haute and Lonnie Wiram (Maeghan) of Brazil. He was a proud Papa to Kyron and Zyon Washington and Esabella, Gabriella and Rocco Scamihorn. He loved his grandchildren deeply and enjoyed spending time with them on nature walks, playing in the backyard and making holidays special.

Lonnie is survived by his wife, children and grandchildren, as well as his sisters Joanna Moreland (Bob), Peggy Kidd (Randy), Mary Baldwin (Denny), brother Frank Wiram, Jr. (Mary Kay) all of Terre Haute, and grandmother Esther Saulman of Mariposa, California; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and a loving in-law family. He was also loved by his Sheltie, Annie. Lonnie retired from Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 157 and Sycamore Engineering.

He proudly shared with his family all of the commercial buildings he helped construct, including Union Hospital – which he also happily shared with hospital staff. Lonnie was an active member of Union Christian Church where he faithfully served the Lord and his church. His faith grew as he was discipled and mentored.

He loved his church family, especially the praise team members. Even during his last moments, he was playing guitar and singing praises to God. Services will be held at Union Christian Church Thursday, May 16 from 4 to 8 p.m. and Friday, May 17 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with a celebration of life service immediately following at 1 p.m. Graveside services will be held following the service at Highland Lawn Cemetery.
