A native of Jeanerette and resident of Biloxi and Ocean Springs, Mississippi for the past 16 years, Ms Meadows died on Monday, January 7, 2019 at Maison Teche Nursing Home. Lorenza was a wonderful & most loving aunt, godmother, and friend. She enjoyed cooking, baking, camping, going on trips, dancing, crocheting and knitting, and making the best fruit cake cookies ever.

Christmas was her favorite holiday & kept her tree up all year long decorating it for Mardi Gras, then back to Christmas. She always loved going to the beach and in 2002 decided to move to Biloxi where the beach was her view every day from her apartment window and from her apartment yard got to see the parades, fireworks, & “cruisin’ along the coast” events. There she enjoyed going to the casinos, the buffets, bus outings, playing bingo, eating fried oysters, gumbo, and boudin when it was brought to her from Louisiana.

She really loved living in Mississippi! Lorenza was a sweet and caring person, always so generous and giving and we all loved her very much. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her including her dear apartment friends from Biloxi and Ocean Springs.

Her love and affection for us will be cherished and remembered forever. She is survived by her nephew and godchild Johnny Jumonville and wife Beverly of Carencro and sons Scott and Taylor; her nephew Ricky Jumonville and wife Margaret of Cecilia, daughter Rickie and sons Ryne, Travis, and Wyatt; her niece Janice Berthelot of Jeanerette and children Raymond, Jr. (godchild) and Angel; her nephew Henry Jumonville and wife Gwen of New Iberia, and daughters Leslie and Tiffany; her nephew Cardell Jumonville, Sr of Jeanerette and children Cardell, Jr., Jacob, Ann Marie, and Nicholas; her niece Elodie J. Alvarez and husband Wilfredo of Jeanerette and children Maria, Teresa, Carlos, and Henry; her two sisters-in-law Shirley Jumonville and Elsie Jumonville; and numerous great-great nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Walter, Sr. and Valerie Broussard Jumonville; her brothers Henry Jumonville, Walter “Bud” Jumonville, Jr., and Charles “Hoppy” Jumonville; her sister and brother-in-law Georgette and Roy Doiron; her nephew and godchild Barry Jumonville; and one great- great niece.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Maison Teche and Grace Hospice for the tender, loving care provided and all those who came to visit and comfort her. Acadian Funeral Home of New Iberia, is in charge of arrangements.
