Obituary for Lorraine C. Wieseman Dateline: Bethalto Lorraine C. Wieseman, age 88, of Bethalto, formerly of Prairietown, passed away on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at 3:00 pm at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, IL. She was born on December 26, 1929, the daughter of Herman and Olga (Dickhaus) Hering. She married Lawrence E. Johnson, he preceded her in death on December 27, 1990.

She later married Walter Wieseman. He also preceded her in death. Lorraine was a member of St. Peter’s in Prairietown where she was on the Altar Guild and Ladies Aid, as well as St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Wood River.

She was an avid Cubs fan. She enjoyed traveling with her second husband, embroidery and spending time with her family. She is survived by a son and his wife, Terry and Barb Johnson of Worden; two step-daughters, Shirley and William Hanks of Bunker Hill, and Kathleen and David Jackson of Jackson, MO; two step-sons, Craig and Jennifer Wieseman of Highland, and Bradley and Kathy Wieseman of Alton; grandchildren, Keith, Chris, Rachel, Emily, Leah, Matthew, Patrick, Ryan, Sam, Katherine and Meagan; great-grandchildren, Grace, William, Alexander, Charlotte, Allyson, Nicholas, Mitchell, Luke, Timothy, Jonathan, Chloe, Trent and Jett.

Along with her parents and first and second husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Michael Johnson of Staunton; a daughter, Vicki Leonhardt of Mt. Olive; a brother, Edgar Hering of Colorado; and a sister, Elda Shonkwiler of Florida. Visitation will be on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 from 4 pm to 7 pm at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Wood River.

Funeral services will be on Thursday, May 17, 2018 at 11 am at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Wood River with Reverend Dr. George Gude officiating. Burial will be at Jefferson Barracks with her first husband, Lawrence E. Johnson. Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto is in charge of arrangements.
