Louis Weiner, 95 of Annadale passed away at home on Saturday, January 26, 2019, surrounded by his loving family. Born Friday, May 4, 1923 in New York, New York, he was the son of the late Frank Weiner and the late Frieda Epstein Weiner. Born and raised in Brooklyn, and settling in Canarsie, Louis was a self employed Taxi driver, owning his own medallion cab.

Louis and his family settled in Annadale in 2004. After retiring, he became a NYC Board of Education School Aide until his retirement at the age of 82. Louis then took on his greatest job, as caretaker to his granddaughter Callie from kindergarten until the 4th grade.

In his free time, Louis loved Horse racing, and visited his favorite place OTB whenever he could, but his most cherished time was spent with his granddaughter. Louis was a WWII Army Medic who assisted prisoners at the end of the war from the concentration camps, in contacting their family in America, letting them know they were still alive, It was his proudest part of serving his country. On June 3, 1950 Louis became the beloved husband to Constance (Nee Ragusa) Weiner.

They were married for 68 beautiful years. Loving father of Maria Sireci and Gerri Miranda. Cherished grandfather of Callie Miranda.

A Funeral service will be held at 8:00 PM on Monday at John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, Inc. located at 28 Eltingville Blvd Staten Island, New York 10312. Interment will follow in Pinelawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Pinelawn, NY. The family will receive friends from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Monday, January 28, 2019, at John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, Inc., 28 Eltingville Blvd, Staten Island, New York.
