Louise’s Obituary Louise Lorraine Barrett, age 85, went peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, surrounded with love in her home in Rockford, IL on October 26, 2018. Born December, 22, 1932. She was the daughter of the late Charles Sr., and Sarah “Marie” (Pixler) Vanderheyden.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 53 years, Gene Barrett Sr., her children Gene Jr., Susan, Lawrence, grandchildren Melissa and Gregory Jr., and her siblings Eva, Charles Jr., Betty, and Wayne. Louise is survived by her children Cindy, Gregory Sr., Patrick Sr., Thomas, and grandchildren whom she helped raise, Dawn and Patrick Jr., and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she adored. Her youngest “baby” was her dog, Casper, whom she loved dearly.

Louise will be forever loved and remembered. She was devoted to her family, and always put others first. Her strength and love was centered in her faith and family.

The memories she left us will be cherished in our hearts forever. A Gathering of Remembrance will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday November 1, 2018 at Julian-Poorman-Welte Funeral Home 304 N. 5th St. Rockford with a visitation 1 hour prior to service time. Pastor Mark Swanson will be officiating.

Burial at Willwood Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
