Loyd “Bill”‘s Obituary LOYD WILLIAM “BILL” BREEDLOVE, 93, of Bland, VA passed away Sunday, September 30, 2018 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital with his loving daughter Carol by his side. Born in Russell County, VA, he has spent most of his life in Bland County as a WWII veteran, a life- long farmer, a 24 year employee of Radford Arsenal, a long standing member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church and a loving husband and father.

He was preceded in death by Allene Hamilton Breedlove, his wife of 64 years, two brothers, Harold and Kenneth Breedlove and two sisters, Irene Stump and Ella May Fanning. He is survived by three children, Janet B. Faulkner, Bland, Carol Davis and Jub Preston, Roanoke and Loyd & Diane Breedlove, Bland; five beloved grandchildren, Eric & Sherron Faulkner, Durham, NC, Aaron Faulkner, Bland, Heather Davis, Roanoke, Josh Breedlove, Bland, and Zachary & Lindsey Breedlove, Dublin; four much loved great grandchildren, Casey Faulkner, Marion, Logan Faulkner, Durham, NC, Emma and Layla Breedlove, Dublin; and two sisters, Mary Bird, Rocky Gap and Margaret French, Narrows. Additionally, Bill is survived by numerous step-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and special friends, Norma & Frank Scammell, Denver, NC.

A special thanks goes out to devoted caregivers Elaine Sparks and Vinia Davis for their loving care. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home, White Gate, with Rev. Ted Anders and Rev.

Andy Hodock officiating. Burial will follow in Mechanicsburg Cemetery. Military graveside rites will be provided by the Bland American Legion Post #20 and the Bland VFW Post #7969, of which he was a member.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 P.M. until service time, 2:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made in Bill’s honor to Mechanicsburg Cemetery, c/o Lenora Chewning, 9011 E. Blue Grass Trl. , Bland, VA 24315.
