OBITUARY LuAnn (Boone) Ledford March 22, 1960 – July 20, 2018 Play Tribute Movie Waynesville – LuAnn Boone Ledford, 58, passed away Friday, July 20, 2018 Surrounded by her family. LuAnn was born in Mitchell County on March 22, 1960, to Emma Lou Robinson Boone and the late Daniel Boone. She enjoyed the outdoors whether she was camping with her little dog, Maggie, trail riding or showing horses.

She worked as a Physical Therapist Assistant and Wound Care Specialist for the Haywood County Hospital. She enjoyed helping others in her career. She was also very committed to her spirituality and her love for the Lord and family.

In addition to her father, LuAnn was preceded in death by a brother, Greg Boone. Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 23 years, Kevin Ledford; son, Chad Liner, of Louisville, KY; daughter, Emily Schack and her husband Mike of Raleigh, NC; step daughter, Erin Ledford Henson of Atlanta, GA; brother, Mike Boone, of Burnsville, NC; and sister, Susan Caldwell of Canton, NC. The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Amy Minton, Sue Ferguson, Barbara Jenkins, Vicki James, Robyn Jackson, and Gwen Ledford.

They will be in our hearts and prayers forever. With their help Lu was able to pass in peace at her home. Funeral services will be held at 3 pm on Tuesday at Garrett Funeral Home with Pastor Dan Dockery officiating.

Burial will follow at Ratcliffe Cove Cemetery. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation at 383 Main Avenue, 5th Floor, Norwalk, CT 06851.
