Lucas John Palmer (Luke), was our son, brother, relative of every kind, friend. Luke was only 32 years old but in this span of life he touched many hearts. He has had many struggles with health as all of us knowing him would agree.

He was raising his 3 year old daughter and living with us because of his health issues. He was an avid racing fan. NASCAR was his favorite and he even raced at Kalamazoo Speedway once and did very well, his brother Josh was Crew Chef.

He also was in culinary arts in college at Kent Intermediate and GRCC. He loved to cook many things at home and make large sandwiches . He worked in mostly manufacturing and was very skilled in door making, at times sent around the U.S. for bank door repairs.

He was married 8 years and then divorced. He had custody of his 3 year old daughter Veda Christine. He also had a daughter Isabella that is 13 through marriage and Luke was the only dad she knew.

He was a kind person but very laid back and of all that knew him that was Luke. Luke had Crohn’s disease and from diagnosis at 14 until he passed he suffered terrible pain. Luke had just had Colostomy bag put on temporarily with hope of reconnection.

We all knew of his personal battles and some of us were around him during these times. His time on this Earth will be remembered as a great journey and as parents we believe we will meet again. May he be blessed and without pain where he is now.

May all that knew him never forget…remember all we can of Luke and always know he is in Heaven with our creator and Lord Jesus Christ.
