Lucy A. Kincaid (nee LaFon), 66, of Oberlin, OH, formerly of Sistersville, WV, passed away unexpectedly at her residence on Monday May 14, 2018. She was born December 5, 1951 in Welch, WV and was a graduate of Big Creek High School in War, WV. Lucy had resided in Oberlin since April 2018 and formerly lived in Sistersville, WV for 11 years and Livingston, MT for 18 years.

Lucy had her bachelor’s degree in Theology from The University of Arizona at Phoenix. She was a veteran and served in the US Army for over 20 years and retired as a 1rst Sargent in 1990. Lucy was also a licensed insurance agent and broker and formerly owned her own insurance agency in MT.

She also served as a Court Appointed Special Advocate for children in both MT and WV and she was involved in the Big Brothers and Big Sisters organization for over 25 years. She was also involved in ministry for many years alongside her husband, a Church of God pastor. An accomplished vocalist, Lucy attended Pearlbrook Church of God in Cleveland, OH where she sang in the choir.

She loved collecting all things, going to yard sales and thrift store shopping. She is survived by; her husband of 31 years, Robert Daniel Kincaid; one son, Alan Kincaid (Kim) of Lorain, OH; three grandchildren, Halle, Sabrina and Caleb; two great-grandchildren, Joseph and Ayanah; one sister, Belinda Evans (Michael) of Baltimore, MD; one brother, James Frank LaFon IV of Seymour, MO; and by several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Frank LaFon III and Ella Mae (nee Whitaker) LaFon.

The family will receive friends on Friday May 18, 2018 from 6 to 8pm at the Pearlbrook Church of God, 4644 Pearl Road, Cleveland. The Funeral Service will be Saturday May 19, 2018 at 11:00am at the church, where the family will receive friends one-hour prior to the service. Pastor Gary Lauzon will officiate the service.

Burial will be in Lucy’s home state of West Virginia. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Pearlbrook Church of God in Cleveland, OH. Liston Funeral Home, North Ridgeville, OH is serving the family.
