On Friday, February 22, 2019, our dear husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and uncle, Lyle D. Holmstead, passed quietly away at the age of 58. Lyle was born on November 21, 1960, to Von Holmstead and RaNae Richins. He was the second oldest of five boys.

Lyle and his brothers bonded through camping, hunting, and fishing together. He graduated from Lehi High School where he was a wide receiver on the football team. In 1981, Lyle married the love of his life, Debra Lee Newman.

Together they made their longtime home in Pleasant Grove, Utah, where they had three children. Lyle was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather throughout his life. He spent countless weekends camping, riding ATVs, fishing, and hunting with his family.

He instilled in all of them a deep love of the outdoors and quality family time. His greatest joy was seeing others succeed, especially his children. Lyle was a skilled mechanic and welder, working at PepsiCo, Four Seasons, and North American Arms.

He and Debi also owned their own home repair business, L&D Maintenance. He actively repaired small engines his entire life. He found joy and fulfillment solving problems and fixing just about anything that was broken.

Lyle will be deeply missed by his surviving wife, Debi, and his three children, Zachary, Jennifer, and Kaydan, as well as nine grandchildren who cherished their time with him and who will carry his legacy into the future, just as he would have wanted. He was preceded in death by his father. Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 28, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. in the Pleasant Grove Stake Chapel, 275 East 500 South, Pleasant Grove, Utah.

Family and friends may also attend a viewing that same morning from 9:00–10:45, immediately prior to the service. Interment will be in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery, 500 North Main Street, Pleasant Grove. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.
