Lynn Alleman Thomas 1927 – 2018 Lynn Alleman Thomas, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend, died September 10, 2018 of natural causes. He was kind, polite, reserved, private, loyal and respectful to all. He was born June 6, 1927 to Perry Guy Thomas and Lelia Alleman Thomas in Salt Lake City, Utah.

He married Shirley Mae Jones on February 17, 1960 in the Saint George LDS Temple Lynn attended Hawthorne Elementary, Irving Junior High, and South High School (where he was an all-state football player); served in the Army; and graduated from the University of Utah. He retired from the Utah State Health Department, and worked many years after retirement at the University’s testing center. Lynn always had a passion for football, and enjoyed watching games and knowing all about the scores, teams and players.

He was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served a mission in the Central Atlantic States, a stake mission, and later with his wife, in the San Bernardino, California CES Mission. Lynn served in many bishoprics, and as a veil and ordinance worker in the Salt Lake Temple. He is survived by his three children and their spouses, Linda Dawn Christensen (Richard), Lynn Mitchell Thomas (Kristine), John Rees Thomas (Sharon); eight grandchildren, Michelle Finnochio (Ernie), Adam Christensen (Kristina), Jordan Ostlund (Tyler), Eli Thomas, Benjamin Thomas, Jack Thomas, Andrew Thomas, Jenna Thomas; two great-granddaughters; and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his wife, parents, and his three brothers. The family would like to give special thanks and appreciation for the excellent and loving care received from the staff at Carrington Court and Active Hospice. At Lynn’s request, a private service will be held on Saturday, September 15.

He will be laid to rest at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Missionary Fund.
