Mónica’s Obituary Mónica Hernandez Madrigal, age 76, of Gonzales passed away Friday, January 25, 2019 at Windsor Skyline Care Center nursing home in Salinas, CA. Mónica was born March 19, 1942 in Ojo de Agua de Señora, Michoacán, Mexico. She is the daughter of the late Jesus and the late Carmen (Aguiñiga) Hernandez.

Mónica was a homemaker and an agricultural worker for many years. She was known for her easygoing personality and her natural gift of loving people unconditionally. She enjoyed sharing anecdotes, reading her bible, opening up her home to loved ones, cooking for her guests, spending time with family and friends, and helping others.

She liked spending time in her garden and was knowledgeable about plants. She believed in education and understood the importance of learning. Mónica was married to the late Jose Lucio Robles Madrigal and is survived by her 6 children, Maria (Jacinto), Jorge, Aurelio “Jay”, Abel, Lucio Madrigal of Gonzales, CA; and Arminda (Castellon) of Stockton.

Mónica leaves 4 siblings; Juan Hernandez of Ojo de Agua de Señora, Michoacán, Mexico, Clemencia Hernandez of Panindicuaro, Michoacán, Mexico, Carmen Morales and Antonio Hernandez of Gonzales, CA. She also leaves 11 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 8 siblings, Teresa, Felicitas, Anita, Gracia, Guadalupe, Luz, Miguel and Geronimo Hernandez.

Rosary will be held at 7:00 pm, Friday, February 1, 2019 at St. Theodore’s Catholic Church in Gonzales at 116 South Belden Street. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 2, 2019 at St. Theodore’s Catholic Church. The burial will follow at the Gonzales Cemetery.
