Obituary for Mabel “Jo” King Mabel “Jo” King, 93, of Eastpointe, MI and Ft. Myers, FL, passed away on Tuesday, January 1, 2019. She was born August 2, 1925 in Collinsville, AL, the daughter of Joseph Homer and Rosie Belle (née Smith) England.

Jo was a gifted quilter, gardener, cook and caregiver. She had a special fondness for children – for many years she volunteered in the nursery at church. She brought joy and laughter wherever she went with her spunky personality and sense of humor.

She has touched the lives of countless individuals with her generosity and kind heart. Mrs. King is survived by her loving daughter, Martha Lynette (Douglas) Regnaert of Ft. Myers, FL; her sisters and brothers, Maggie (the late Arbert) Daniel of Crossville, AL, Willie (the late Elton) Fowler of Crossville, AL, Adam (Louise) England of Crossville, AL and James (the late Frances) England of Albertville, AL; five cherished grandchildren, Brian Regnaert, Brad (Nicole) Regnaert, Malissa Spiller, Shaun (Marissa) Wolgast and Jason Spiller; and six treasured great grandchildren, Hilary, Gabrielle, Armand, Isabel, Jack and Luke.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Roy William King and her daughters, Mary Lynn Spiller and Marie “Lucy” Wolgast. Funeral services and burial will take place in Michigan. There will be open visitation at Wujek Calcaterra and Sons (36900 Schoenherr Road) from 3-9PM on Sunday, January 6, 2019, and a memorial service starting at 11AM on Monday, January 7, 2019.

There will be dinner and fellowship to follow the service at Faith Baptist Church – everyone is welcome to attend. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in Jo King’s honor. Arrangements are being handled by Shikany’s Bonita Funeral Home – Family Owned Since 1978.
