Richard William Olson, 85, of Ft, Myers, FL, passed away on Saturday, February 23, 2019. Formerly of New York, he had been a Florida resident for many years. He was born April 5, 1933 in Brooklyn, NY, the son of Algot and Emma Olson.

Richard was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy. He had a passion for fishing and also enjoyed reading novels, watching westerns and wrestling. He is survived by his loving sons, Jon (Patricia) Hall of Champaign, IL and Sean (Hollie) Hall of Ft.

Myers, FL; and seven cherished grandchildren, Courtney Linkous, Tyler Linkous, Kai Hall, Ian Hall, Sage Hall, Zoe Hall and Kaedan Hall. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Bonnie (née Brown) Olson in 2004. Burial with Military Honors will take place at the Sarasota National Cemetery, Sarasota, FL.
