of West Warwick, RI, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 4, 2018, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Tateos M. and Mantoohe (Serjenian) Heditsian. A lifelong Rhode Islander, Manny was known by many throughout the state for his generous spirit, unwavering optimism, and the joy he took in helping others.

His zest for life, curiosity and love of learning led to world travels and kept him forever young. A University of Rhode Island graduate, he was inducted into the URI Athletic Hall of Fame for both football and tennis. He served as the University’s alumni president and was a member of the URI Foundation Executive Board.

During his more than fifty-year career at MassMutual, he was a lifetime member of the Million Dollar Roundtable, president of the RI Life Underwriters Association, and was named Rhode Island Life Insurance Agent of the Year. A veteran of WWII, he served in the Army Air Corps. A founding member of Quidnessett Country Club in 1961, Manny was an avid golfer who played until age 95.

He was predeceased by his wife Isabel and is survived by his daughters, Louise and Diane, sons Robert (Julia) and Donald (Tammi), and adoring grandchildren Alexandra, Veronica, Harrison, Scott (Cara), Olivia, Claudia, Xavier and great grandson, Everett. He was the dear brother of the late Alice M. Avedesian, Queenie H. Tashjian and Corinne A. Heditsian. His funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 11th at 11 a.m., in Sts.

Sahag & Mesrob Armenian Apostolic Church, Providence, followed by burial with military honors at North Burial Ground, Providence. VISITING HOURS are Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave. , Cranston.
