Obituary for Manuel Angel “Manny” Torres Jr. Manuel Angel Torres, Jr. better known as Manny, passed on January 1, 2019 unexpectedly at his home. Born in Meriden on December 1, 1985 to Manuel A. Torres Sr. and Denise Gonzalez Torres. He was a graduate of Maloney High School Class of 2003 and a parishioner of St. Rose of Lima Church.
Manny’s time on this earth was too short, but in that short time he lived and enjoyed his life. A semi-pro football player, who loved adventure and music. With his soft eyes and charismatic smile Manny touched the lives of many people he came across.
No words can express the heartache of his untimely passing. He was a loving son, brother, father, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend. With life’s ups and downs, he found comfort in his faith in God, and always found strength to move forward in life.
He spent a lot of his time between Connecticut and Puerto Rico. His charming looks, hilarious jokes and honesty were some of the qualities he was known for. As a devoted son, father and brother he enjoyed spending quality time with his sons and family.
A friend to all, he will truly be missed and remembered as a real one. Besides his parents, he is survived by his sister Vanessa Torres, his two sons; Chase and Chance and a niece Chelsea. He is also survived by his maternal grandmother, Delma Gonzalez, several aunts, uncles and cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, January 7, 2019, at 11 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Church, 35 Center St., Meriden. Everyone is asked to gather directly at the church. Burial will be private.
