Obituary for Francisco I. Cruz Print Francisco I. Cruz, 72, husband of Virginia Gutierrez, died Friday, February 15, 2019 at his home after a long illness. Born in July 6, 1946 in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, he was the son of the late Francisco Irizarry and Maria C. Cruz. Mr. Cruz enjoyed watching television, he had a great sense of humor and loved to make everyone laugh.
He enjoyed doing volunteer work for the elderly and was very proud of being relative to the Cardona Family. Besides his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Priscilla Rivera, a son, Francisco Cruz Jr., and four granddaughters. He is also survived by four brothers; Wilfredo, Nelson and Ramon Irizarry and James Rosa and three nephews; James Jr., Joshua and David Rosa.
He was predeceased by his son Daniel Ray Urueta Cruz. A memorial service will be held at a later date and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the family c/o The John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main Street, Meriden.
