Obituary for Manuel “Manny” Bottaro Bottaro, Manuel “Manny”, 92, formerly of East Hartford, loving husband to the late Rose Marie (Walden) Bottaro, peacefully went to Rose Marie in heaven Saturday, November 17, 2018 at the Masonicare in Wallingford. Manuel was born November 19, 1925, in Jefferson County, Alabama, son of the late Antonio and Rose (Manza) Bottaro. The family moved to Hartford where Manny and his siblings were raised.

He was a longtime resident of East Hartford, where he resided with his family. Manny was a traditional Italian patriarch, loving husband to Rose Marie for 58 years, excellent father and wonderful provider who always put himself last in the family order, making sure that his wife and children had whatever they needed and could ask for. Manny was a skilled tool and die maker who worked in the manufacturing industry for over forty years.

He served our country proudly during World War II in the United States Navy. Manny, will be deeply missed and remembered by his daughters and sons-in-law, Cathy and John Steele and Patricia and Stephen Gaylord; a son and daughter-in-law, James and Susan Bottaro; four adored grandchildren with their spouses, Douglas Bottaro, Jeffrey and Angela Bottaro, Mark and Caity Steele, Tim and Mellisa Steele; his five cherished great grandchildren, Charlotte, Max, Oliver, Jaxon and Jameson; two brothers with their spouses, Joseph and Gloria Bottaro and Frank and Sofie Bottaro; as well as his three sisters, Nina Catalano, Virginia Asker and her husband Richard and Carmel Battaglio. In addition to his wife and his parents, Manny was predeceased by his siblings and in-laws, Sam, Angelo, Alice, Nick, Sal, and Mary.

Friends and relatives may pay their respects to the Bottaro Family, Tuesday, November 20, 2018 from 3-5 p.m., with a funeral ceremony (to include military honors) at 5 p.m. at The Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Rd. , Wethersfield In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Masonicare Charity Foundation of Connecticut, PO Box 70, Wallingford, CT 06492, in appreciation for their kindness and compassionate care shown to Rose (prior to her passing) and Manny during his stay.
