OBITUARY Mary Margaret Ambrose August 28, 1923 – November 13, 2018 Mary M. Ambrose (95) of Wethersfield, died peacefully on Nov 13, 2018 at The Hearth in Glastonbury, CT. Born in 1923 in Hartford, to Luigi and Margharita (Galli) Marianella. Mary was predeceased by her husband of almost 50 years, John P. Ambrose, Sr

She leaves her four children, Christopher Ambrose, Margaret Ambrose, John P. Ambrose and Andrea Scott. She also leaves seven grandchildren, Rachel Ambrose, Jason Ambrose, Sarah Ambrose, Melissa Ambrose, Jennifer Ambrose, Jacqueline Scott and Gregory Scott. She also leaves five great-grandchildren, Colin and Meredith Schell, Ellory and Rowenna Lyford and Sylvie Shubeck.

Mary graduated from Weaver High School and continued her education at the Hartford Hospital School of Nursing, graduating with a degree in nursing in 1944. She worked as a public health nurse until starting her family. She was active in the Girls and Boys Scouts of America was the founding president of the Federated Jr. Women’s Club in Wethersfield, CT.

She was an avid gardener, reader and enjoyed painting for many years. Special thanks to all of the kind and generous staff from Nurse Nextdoor Home Care Services, The Hearth in Glastonbury and Vitas Hospice. Per her request, there will be no calling hours.

Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to Nurse Nextdoor Homecare Services, 45 Wintonbury Ave, Suite 104, Bloomfield, CT 06002 or VITAS Healthcare. 628 Hebron Avenue, Glastonbury, CT 06033.
