Obituary for Margaret Ann Griggs Margaret Ann Griggs, age 84, of Royal Oak, passed away June 3, 2018. Margaret was born in Detroit, MI, but attended high school in Virginia, graduating from Wilson Memorial High School in 1951. Her future husband, Harold, first laid eyes on Margaret as she stepped off the bus on her arrival back in Detroit – she was nineteen years old and he twenty-three.

They then went on to enjoy sixty-three years of marriage together until Harold’s passing in 2016. In her free time, Margaret loved to knit, crochet, and complete jigsaw puzzles. She was also very fond of country music.

Margaret and her husband enjoyed going on cruises and taking trips to Vegas-the slot machines being her game of choice. Margaret also loved cats and was fond of cooking-her family will always remember her as a great cook. By far though, Margaret’s favorite thing was being a mother.

She adored her family, and she and Harold included their special-needs daughter, Jennifer, in just about everything they did. Margaret was deeply loved, and she will be greatly missed. Margaret is survived by her children: Deborah (Gary) Voight, Scott Griggs, Kimberly (Patrick) Madden, and Jennifer Griggs; and her grandchildren, Julie and Melissa.

She was predeceased by her husband, Harold. Visitation will take place Tuesday, June 5, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 p.m. at Wm. Sullivan and Son Funeral Home, 705 W. Eleven Mile.
