Poland-Margaret Ann “Peggy” Kostyk passed away peacefully on Monday morning, February 18, 2019. She was 87 years old. Margaret was born in Youngstown on April 11, 1931, daughter of Florence Kissinger and Dr. William M. Skipp.

A lifelong area resident, Margaret was a graduate of Boardman High School and Youngstown State University. She worked for many years at the Edward J. DeBartolo Corporation, first as a legal secretary, then as an executive assistant. Margaret loved her family and enjoyed being at family gatherings.

She was a voracious reader. She is survived by her sons, Mark (Cheryl) Kostyk of Canfield and Michael Kostyk of Poland; four grandchildren, Jason (Lizzie) Kostyk of Williamsburg, VA, Christine (Chris) Bletso of Cornersburg, Alicia Kostyk of Boardman, and Nora Kostyk of Chesapeake, VA; and three great-grandchildren, Connor and Chloe Bletso and Wesley Kostyk. In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Valerian Kostyk, on January 27, 2000, and her brother, Bill Skipp.

A funeral service will be held on Friday at 5 p.m. at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, 270 N. Main St., Poland, where family and friends will be received from 4-4:45 p.m., prior to the service. Interment will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Boardman. Memorial tributes may take the form of contributions in Mrs. Kostyk’s name to a charity of the donor’s choice.
