Obituary for Margaret Christine Siders Margaret Christine Siders, age 86, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 28, 2018 with her family by her side. Christine was born in Huntington, WV on January 12, 1932 to Henry A. and Verna (Jenkins) Shoemaker. Preceded in death by her husband, Paul Lester Siders, Sr.; sons, Jimmy Siders, Frederick Siders and Jack Siders; daughters, Donna Mae Siders and Eva Siders.

Survived by sons, Paul Lester (Vicki) Siders Jr. and Michael Andrew Siders Sr.; daughters, Sherry Ann Boon (James), Patricia Lynn Siders, and Tonya Kay Wilson; numerous grandchildren great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; brother, Henry Lee Shoemaker and sister-in-law, Maggie Shoemaker. Christine was and will always be known as one of the most humble, generous, selfless, sweet and loving women and mothers this world will ever know. Christine led a simple life, one in which she recognized and found incredible joy in the simple things such as sitting with her great-granddaughter Alyssa when she was little, drinking coffee while watching squirrels on the bird feeder outside her dining room window.

Christine loved her crafts and hobbies of embroidery, hook and latch kits, reading romance novels, working jigsaw puzzles, and her beloved word find puzzle books. She loved word finds so much she always had an ink pen, frequently more than one, at the ready safely tucked on the top of her head in her ponytail that she wore daily in her younger years. After reuniting with her brother Henry, she spent many summers with he and his wife Maggie where she learned to make plastic canvas dolls, and other home décor which she bestowed on all her family.

Some great-grandchildren may have thought they were scary but she was a creative woman and they were all done beautifully and with love. Lest we forget her fervent passion for her country music, her crush Elvis Presley, country western movies, her channel 10 soap operas, WWE wrestling and her Chippendales. But by far the two things she will be remember for most is her incredible from scratch cooking and the love she had for her family.

Her homemade buttermilk biscuits, her sausage and gravy, her delicious meatloaf and mashed potatoes are missed and constantly strived to be duplicated by those who had the blessing of being taught to cook by her. But the love of her family is enduring and everlasting. Christine is remembered by her children and grandchildren alike by the immense joy that would spread across her face at their arrival.

She is remembered by her great-grandson Trey by the biggest smile she would have as she give him and his sister Christmas presents, by her daughter-in-law Candi at how she lit up and how happy her grandbabies made her, by her grandson Josh for how much she REALLY enjoyed a good puzzle and a chuckle, and by her granddaughter Donna for her humility. Christine is remembered by her daughter Patricia for being a true stay at home mom – cleaning, taking care of her kids, the great food she made, the wringer washer she washed the clothes and hung them to dry by, snapping green beans with her to cook green beans and potatoes, coming home from school for lunch and watching the Young and the Restless with her, going grocery shopping and her being able to strike up a conversation with everyone and for being beautiful inside and out. Christine is remembered by her daughter Sherry for how she loved and cared for all her kids, how she enjoyed her puzzles and soap operas and most of all for raising her daughter Tonya Kay.

And Christine, Mom, will be remembered by Tonya for the fierce love and protection she displayed for her every single day of her life. Regardless of the little she had she would always find something to give or share. Mom always had your back.

If you left Mom to watch your purse heaven help anyone who came near it. Her family was everything to her, she would lay her life down for her family and essentially, she did. Her all was for them, her all was for us.

Special, special thanks to the Canal Winchester Rehabilitation, Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing Center in Canal Winchester, Ohio. Christine was a resident since February and never did we ever imagine her nursing facility would become family. Not only the care but the love that they showed and displayed for her was unprecedented.

Every nurse, every aide, doctor, administrator, and activities director displayed love from day one to not only her but the family. To Trisha, Misty, Craig, Debbie, Kim, Terri, Alverna, and Sally and all the staff you are the true angels. The work you do makes a difference.

It provides love, caring and dignity when we need it most in our lives. Thank you. To Dr. Tracy A. Fowler thank you for answering the call and ushering in God’s Angels.

We were blessed to have you with us as she crossed over. We are eternally grateful. To all our friends and you know who you are, you are and always have been more than friends you are family.

Our lives are enriched because of you and we can never thank you or pay you back for the support and love that you provide and for holding us up and carrying us through our most trying and darkest moments. Finally, and joyfully, Christine’s best friends Janis and Pat and her daughter Patty. You gave Mom such joy in her final months.

The love you showed her was overwhelming. You loved her deeply and completely with no reservations. May we all be so blessed to have beautiful souls such as yours in our lives.

We will not forget you. Actually, we’ll be in Wednesday to see you as usual. We love you.
