Obituary for Margaret Church Margaret Mary Murphy Church July 3, 1937 – November 23, 2018 Margaret (Peggy) Church Margaret (Peggy) Church of Annadale passed away peacefully at the age of 81 on November 23, 2018surrounded by herloving family. Born in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, Peggy was the devoted wife of the late Alfred Church, mother to her late son John Church,and daughter of the late Dennis and Elizabeth Murphy. A graduate ofBay Ridge High School, Peggy was an adoringmother to her children and loved being with her family.

She felt fortunate to share her home with her parents so they couldenjoy life together. After moving from Brooklyn, she was a passionateStaten Islander for 55 years. She began her career working for New York State as a medical stenographer, and later worked for Macy�s for twenty years, retiring to care for her husband when he fell ill.

Peggy was proud of her Irish heritage and hosted a traditional St. Patrick�s Day dinner every year. She was a loyal parishioner of Holy Child Church, and belonged to the Holy Child Bowling League as well as the South Shore Swimming Club. Sheloved having tea with her family and cheering for her favorite baseball team, the New York Mets.

Peggy was a warm and wonderful soul, who brought smiles and laughter to her friends and family. She will be missed deeply by all who knew her. She is survived by her daughters, Carleen Church and Laureen Henry, and her son, Donald Church.

She was a proud mother-in-law to Richard Henry and Alba Church. Caring nanny to hersix grandchildren, Anthony, Michael, Alyssa, Rich (RJ), Cristina and Brianna, and hergreat-granddaughter, Rosabella. Cherished sister of John Murphy, Carol Zazzera, and Patricia Paholek.

Predeceased by her dear brother Dennis Murphy. A Mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, November 26, 2018 at Holy Child Church in Staten Island, NY. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Staten Island, NY.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 to5:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PMon Sunday, November 25, 2018, at John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, Inc., 28 Eltingville Blvd, Staten Island, New York.
