Margaret E. (Neal) Forsyth passed away on her 92nd birthday, Wednesday May 2, 2018, at the home of her daughter Susan in Somerville. Margaret was born and Educated in Birmingham, England. She moved to the United States at the age of 19 after becoming a “War Bride” to her late husband, Robert Forsyth.

They settled in Mattapan and then moved to Randolph. In 1957 Margaret and her family moved to Braintree where she remained until she and Robert moved into the house they built for their retirement in East Falmouth in 1988. Margaret had worked for the Grass Instrument Company in Braintree for 12 years.

She had been a Cub Scout Den Mother and also a Bluebird Troop Leader having the largest Troop ever in Braintree. She was an avid golfer. Margaret had a great love for her family and friends and will be missed by all who knew her.

Margaret was the beloved wife of the late Robert L. Forsyth who passed away in 2005. She is the cherished Mother of Susan M. Saia married to Dominic of Somerville, Robert N. Forsyth married to Carole of East Falmouth and Elizabeth A. DeYoung married to John of Braintree. She is the proud Grandmother of John F. DeYoung married to Bridget of Abington, Victoria E. DeYoung of Ft.

Meyers, FL and Neil G. DeYoung of Braintree. Margaret is also survived by a Great Grandson Gavin J. DeYoung. She is the sister of Iris Hodges married to Harold of Great Malvern, Worcester, England.

There will be visiting hours for Margaret on Monday, May 7th from 11:00 – 1:00 P.M. at the Mortimer N. Peck – Russell Peck Funeral Home, 516 Washington Street, Braintree to be followed by a Funeral Service in the Peck Funeral Home at 1:00pm. The Reverend Clyde Grubbs from the All Souls Unitarian Church of Braintree will officiate. A private burial will take place at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne at a later date.

Rather than flowers Margaret’s family sincerely requests the donations in her memory be made to VNA Hospice Care, 100 Trade Center G-500, Woburn, MA 01801.
