Margaret “Peggy” Dean, 89 of Terre Haute passed away May 21, 2018 at Bethesda Gardens. She was born November 22, 1928 to Herbert D. Smith and Zora Marks Smith in Bicknell Indiana. Peggy was a Registered Nurse after attending St. Anthony Hospital nursing School.

She also attended Olivet Nazarene University for one year. She belonged to the St. Anthony Alumni Association, enjoyed knitting, needlework, and cross stitch. She is survived by daughters Mary E. Roscoe (David) of Washington and Susan R. McKanna (Joe) of Terre Haute, son John R. Dean (Jane) of North Carolina, sister Elizabeth A. Deters of Illinois, grandchildren Rachel M. Brock, Joseph Dean, Michael Dean, Erin S. Tootle, Glen P. Roscoe, Kelli Johnson, Heather J. Sullivan, Jessie R. O’Leary, and Kasi R. McKanna, great grandchildren Rylee Dean, Tanner Brock, Madison Brock, Daniel Tootle, and Sophia Dean and best friend Mary Coffey.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Raymond E. Dean whom she married September 15, 1950. Visitation will be held Thursday, May 24, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at DeBaun Springhill Chapel. Services will be Friday, May 25, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. with burial to follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
