David Ray “Bubba” Carithers, 67, of Terre Haute passed away at Terre Haute Regional Hospital on May 1, 2018. He was born June 7, 1950 in Terre Haute to Raymond and Gracie (Smith) Carithers. Bubba was a driver for many years at Star Transport and more recently for Haag Transport.

He is survived by his mother Gracie Carithers, daughter Tiffany Girton (Kodie) of Centerpoint, girlfriend of 30 years Susan ”Olive” Domeika, granddaughter Savanuh Grace Girton, sister Sondra “Soni” Leturgez (Jerry), nieces; Sarah Strain and Crystal Sullivan, nephews; Lucas Strain and James Sullivan, and his beloved dogs Roxy and Chester. He was preceded in death by his father. Bubba was a Gerstmeyer Tech graduate, class of 1968 and was a U.S. Navy veteran having served during the Vietnam War.

He was a member of the Riley American Legion and the Eagles Lodge. Bubba was an avid bowler. Visitation will be held Friday, May 11 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at DeBaun Springhill Chapel with services at 3:00 p.m. in the funeral home, Military honors will be provided by Vigo County veterans honor Guard.
