Margaret D. Riggs, 91, of Punta Gorda went to be with her Lord on June 12, 2018. She was the daughter of Jason and Gussie Boyd, born at home on the first bridge that crossed the Peace River in Punta Gorda on January 7, 1927. Margaret raised many children over the 45 years she owned World of Fun Daycare.

An accomplished artist, she was a founding member of the Charlotte County Art Guild and was a member of the Sea Grape Gallery for many years. Margaret worshiped at Church of God of Prophecy and used her artistic talent to decorate the sanctuary and the Children’s Church area. Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, John Donald Riggs and her grandson, Michael Wayne Riggs.

Margaret will be greatly missed by her children, John, Don (Sheri), Linda Hale, Gary Clark Riggs (Diana) and Wayne; grandchildren, John, Courtney, James, Jason, Gary, Roxanne, Tanya, Erik , Travis, Erica, John, Timothy, Kimberly, Cristy, and Joshua; and 20 great-grandchildren. The service in celebration of Margaret’s life will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 16, 2018 at Church of God of Prophecy in Punta Gorda. To express condolences to the family, please visit www.
